Rehoboth Beach is Delaware's largest coastal town as well as Delaware's largest beach resort. Specifically known for its diversity, award-winning restaurants, specialty boutiques, festivals and mile-long boardwalk, Rehoboth Beach Deleware is a socio-economic gold mine.

Rehoboth Beach is situated along the Mid-Atlantic coastline and is home to pristine white sand beaches. A one square mile town situated directly on the Atlantic Ocean, Rehoboth Beach has approximately 1,600 full-time residents.

Rehoboth Beach is just 90 miles southeast of the capital city of Dover, and approximately 30 miles north of Ocean City, Maryland. Rehoboth Beach is often called the "Nation's Summer Capital" since it is a preferred escape and frequent vacation destination for residents of Washington DC. In addition, it is a popular vacation destination for gay and lesbian tourists.

At Rehoboth Beach you can sit and watch the sunrise, stroll on the mile-long boardwalk, or enjoy watching the many migrating dolphins. Visitors also come to this part of Delaware to swim in the warm summer waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Beach shops and attractions are within walking distance. Rehoboth Beach restaurants and eateries offer a wide array of specialties from the catch-of-the-day to French cuisine. Area shopping ranges from factory outlets to unique and artistic specialty shops.

But what makes Rehoboth Beach magical, of course, is the beach. The long white sand beaches are ideal for long walks, and the natural dunes help to make it all the more picturesque. You can swim, fish, just relax on the beach, or look for shells and hidden treasure. Even in winter, the beaches draw strollers who revel in the views of roiling, storm-tossed waves crashing ashore while savoring the quiet charm of the town.

Families return year after year, invariably spending part of each day strolling down the mile-long wood boardwalk. The beach, shopping and dining are just a short distance away, or choose from a large array of recreational activities. And the resort town provides a variety of accommodations from cozy bed-and-breakfasts to many fine Rehoboth Beach hotels. This tranquil seaside town is best described by the relaxing family atmosphere, which is enjoyed by year-round residents and visitors alike.

While famous for its beaches, eclectic shops, amusements and sporting activities, today's Rehoboth Beach is also becoming well-known as one of the mid-Atlantic coast's most popular gay and lesbian getaways. The highly influential gay and lesbian residents typically sunbathe along "Poodle Beach" at the south end of the boardwalk. The gay community is strong in Rehoboth Beach, with more than 200 gay-owned restaurants and nightspots.

This seaside resort town combines the best in hospitality with a beautiful beach and genuine small-town character. A truly family-friendly beach resort area, Rehoboth Beach Delaware is a great choice for your next long-awaited family vacation.
