Myrtle Beach is a fun, lively, bustling beach town on the Atlantic Coast of South Carolina with millions of visitors choosing to spend their summer vacations on its beaches year after year. It also welcomes vacationers of all ages with a variety of attractions in Myrtle Beach to suit every generation.

North Myrtle Beach is famed for its youth-oriented nightlife while the Southern part has a more family-style atmosphere. While family-oriented much of the year, Myrtle Beach is a hot spot for teenagers, more specifically spring breakers and high school graduates.

The tourism experts say that Myrtle Beach's greatest attractions are still the Atlantic Ocean and the beautiful beaches. In fact, Myrtle Beach's gorgeous beaches beat out those in such exotic locales as Sydney, Australia; Miami, Florida; and Honolulu, Hawaii, in the April 2007 poll of hottest beaches conducted by Yahoo.

The South Carolina city is nestled in the heart of a 60-mile long beach lined with a stretch of white sand commonly referred to as the Grand Strand. As part of the Grand Strand, the Myrtle Beach area receives a large influx of visitors during the spring, summer and fall months. Today it's a great place to vacation, whether you are planning a golf trip, family weekend getaway, honeymoon, fishing trip, or a month-long stay during the winter.

Some of the top attractions in Myrtle Beach include the beautiful beaches as well as a number of amusement parks, a state park, and dozens of dining establishments and eateries, including seafood restaurants. The area is also home to scores of hotels in Myrtle Beach, many of which are beachfront hotels. Myrtle Beach is often called the "Seaside Golf Capital of the World" because it has over 100 golf courses. It also claims to be the "Miniature Golf Capital of the World," because of its 50 miniature golf courses.

If you love top-quality entertainment, Myrtle Beach is the place for you. Myrtle Beach is known for its world-class festivals and is packed with activities and amusement for all ages. There are also live concerts and magnificent shows at the many theaters including the Hard Rock Park.

But the new face of Myrtle Beach and its surrounding communities is Broadway at the Beach. The entertainment complex covers 350 acres and has over 100 shops, 20 restaurants, 10 attractions, pedal-boat rentals, an IMAX Discovery Theatre, Ripley's Aquarium, and 10 nightspots. Then there's Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach, the Coastal Grand Mall, and the minor league baseball stadium that's home to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, an Atlanta Braves Class A farm team.

Myrtle Beach is a popular vacation destination that people visit year after year for their vacation needs. With 60 miles of sandy beaches, endless shopping, wonderful dining, and plenty of family activities, Myrtle Beach is a beautiful city that features attractions that everyone can enjoy. It's no wonder why the attractions of Myrtle Beach make this beach town such a popular South Carolina vacation destination.
